Parasailing
See Key West from the sky - go Parasailing! Get a bird's eye view of the island and the blue waters below as you float above the world on a parasailing trip. It's fun, safe, and unforgettable. You get to see so much more of Key West when you parasail. You can see the entire island, the backcountry on the Gulf side, and the mangroves that dot the landscape around Key West. See jellyfish in the water below, or stingrays. See changes in the landscape beneath the water below you, as you glide over shallower then deeper areas. Take it all in as you float above the world in silence - yes, it's really quiet up there! Imagine peaceful serenity, awesome views, and a breathtaking ride and that's parasailing.

About Parasailing
Parasailing done from a boat that's specially equipped for parasailing. There's a large takeoff and landing platform on the back of the boat, plus a motorized winch that lets you out and then pulls you back in when the ride is over. In Key West, boats are limited to a 600 foot rope. Since the rope goes up at an angle, you will be up in the air just a few hundred feet. That's plenty of height so you can see everything around for a few miles! Your takeoff and landing are done from the wide platform on the back of the boat, so you will not get wet. You can wear a bathing suit if you like, but it's not necessary since takeoffs and landings are dry.
Some people opt for dipping. Tell the captain your preference: toes, knees or higher! Dipping is a fun way to cool off on a hot day and adds even more excitement to your parasail ride. It's just dipping, so you are still harnessed in. There's no need for swimming at any time with parasailing. In fact, many visitors to Key West prefer a parasail trip over snorkeling or diving because they can't swim. If you can't swim, then parasailing is for you!
What Should I Bring?
You will ride out from Key West in a comfortable boat with a cubby space under your seat for your belongings. Wear sunscreen because when you go up in the 'chute, your hat will probably fly off. The Captain or his Mate will recommend that you leave your hat and even your sunglasses on the boat. If you look down while wearing sunglasses and they fall off, don't wear them while parasailing. You can bring your camera up on the 'chute but it's better if you have waterproof housing for it. There is always risk that you'll drop it or it will get splashed when you dip. Some boats have a photo service so ask before you go up.
