Every day, visitors to Key West flock to this restaurant and cafe on Duval Street, along with the Margaritaville Store next door, to see what it's all about. Even if they never heard of Jimmy Buffet or they don't care for his music, people still come here to have a bite to eat, a drink, or look at the store. It's just a very Key West place.
The food is nothing to rave about, just standard burgers and fries, although the fries are sweet potato fries, a nice change from the usual. The famous Cheeseburger in Paradise isn't the best burger in town, but Jimmy Buffet fans don't seem to care. They're here for the whole package: the decor, the historic significance of the place, in the Jimmy Buffet world. The decor is interesting, with wall-sized paintings of Jimmy painted right on the walls, behind fake palm trees and street signs telling you that you are at the right place: Maragaritaville. Diners can sit upstairs on the balcony and watch other diners below. They pack 'em in up there but the view of the bar is excellent from up there. |
