Audubon House and Tropical Gardens - The 1840's home of Captain Geiger is furnished in elegant antiques and features original Audubon engravings and a one-acre tropical garden. Take one of the daily audio tours; 9:30 am - 5:00 pm.
The Audubon House gift shop sells fine gifts and everything to do with birds. Get Audubon prints here, especially the one of the flamingo, it's very lovely. The shop is small and chock full of exquisite items...leave your backpack outside! It's inspiring and beautiful and a world away from the tacky t-shirt shops just around the corner on Duval Street. |
