That's because, located at Mile Marker 20, it is the closest KOA to Key West. You can drive from Sugarloaf Key KOA to Key West in about 10 or 15 minutes, making it the perfect place to camp while visiting the Southernmost City. If you prefer not to drive, the KOA runs a shuttle every day out of the campground and into Key West. It's free. Tent campers and RV folks alive will find accommodations here. Activities at Sugarloaf Key/Key West KOA are varied and plentiful! There's something for everyone! Imagine s'mores and a fire pit. That's KOA Campfire Tims. Like the water or do you have kids? You can't miss the water trampoline set up for hours of fun in the water in front of the beach at the campground. Want to just veg out and relax under the tropical sun? There are floating pads out in the water for your peaceful reflection and wiling away the hours. Don't get burned if you fall asleep! Craft Hour appeals to the artist in all of us and it's a good way to meet other campers. Make a hippy tie-dyed shirt. Or how about the ice cream social they've dubbed Make Your Own Sundae. Snorkeling is another thing you can do out of Sugarloaf KOA. They will rent snorkel gear out of the marina so you can get out there see the underwater world that makes the Key West area so famous.
