Duval Street Shopping Spree
Whether you’re searching for the perfect flip flop, a designer bag, or the most awesome souvenirs to take home to friends and family, a Duval Street shopping spree will take care of everything. Set aside a morning, afternon or evening (most shops are open at night, too), and stroll up and down Key West‘s hub [...] -
Vandenberg Sinking Video and Diving the next day.
Our friend Mike McCallister was fortunate enough to be on one of the first teams of divers on the Vandenberg once it was sunk, he took some video and photos which we can share with you. -
Vandenberg Sinks in Key West
The Vandenberg is finally on its way to becoming an artificial reef. It now lies in about 150 feet down, having sunk about ten feet into the sand. The satellite dishes actually broke off during the sinking, but they are trying to re-attach them or secure them somehow. The actual day of the Vandenberg sinking, [...] -
Things to do in Key West
Of all the things to do in Key West, the best ones involve the ocean. Whether it be snorkeling, diving, fishing or even glass bottom boat tours, the coral reef is what makes Key West special. Other things to do in Key West include Key West museums, bar hopping and Key West tours of Old [...] -
Stargazer Reef
There is an articficial reef in between rock key and sand key, in 20 feet of water. Its kind of striking because it is surrounded by white sand. I couldn’t find much information on it online. One site says its a puzzle another says its something to do with a mounument to mariners. Its pretty [...] -
More Dolphin, turtle rescue and great snorkeling
Snorkeling has been awesome this past week or so , the water has been very clear. The only downside has been there is a lot of current. We had a pod of dolphins come to check us out when we were snorkeling, which was pretty amazing. Its illegal to purposely swim with the wild dolphins [...] -
Dolphin in Key West Harbor
There are quite a few dolphins that hang around Key West. Probably 75% of the time we take the boat we see them, without looking for them. -
Boca Chica Beach – Key West
Outside of Key West on the south side of highway one is a road called Boca Chica road, if you follow this to the end you will find Boca Chica beach. Its a natural Florida Keys beach. There is no sand it is just rock and seaweed. The Road ends becasue it appears to have [...] -
Key West Yacht
This yacht was anchored in the Harbor yesterday. Its probably one of biggest I have seen down here. It not only has 25-30 foot motorboat attached to the back, it also has a decent sized sailboat, helicopter and wave runners aboard. Pretty impressive. -
Snorkeling the 9 foot stake
Directly south of Key West on the edge of the reef is bunch of rocks known as the 9 foot stake. There is actually a 9 foot pole there. The area is full of life but since its not a sanctuary people fish it pretty regulary. The larger bottom fish tend to be much more [...]
