On stock island at the county jail there is a small petting zoo which is open the second and last Sunday of every month from 1-3pm. The animals are rescues and are cared for by the inmates. There are peacocks, six ferrets, a couple alligators, a pig , some big snakes, a lemur, parrots, ponys , goats and giant tortoises. There is also a llama named Bucky. It’s free but donations are welcome.
