Key West ArtsArtists and Art GalleriesKey West arts thrive in this lively art community and more than three dozen art galleries showing their works. The Key West Arts Gallery Association publishes a brochure with a map and brief descriptions of the specialty of each of its 22 members. Key West Art Center (301 Front Street) is a nonprofit artist cooperative where members, who must be local property owners, show their work. Gingerbread Square (Duval Street), the oldest private gallery in Key West, represents many of the best artists.
Local TheatreKey West has ejoyed a long tradition of presenting fine dramas, comedies and musicals starting in mid-1800's, and today serves as a home for many theaters that offer locally produced creations as well as hosting guest artists and road companies from around the world.Key West Film SocietyThe Key West Film Society has been founded to create an active community film arts organization. Key West SymphonyThe Key West Symphony is proud to be the center of cultural activities on our beautiful island. Only in Key West can you swim on the reef in the morning and conduct the great masters that evening. Key West Symphony Orchestra subscription concerts feature music of the great masters of today and yesterday. We are dedicated to being a part of the cultural education of our youth and has and will continue to present educational concerts for free.
